I think we’re just about recovered from Summer Celebration – what a fun weekend!!! Thank you so much for joining us at the My First Garden event and at our booth. The kids who entered the coloring contest did such a fabulous job it will be hard to pick winners for each age category! It was great fun to pass out pinwheels and pirate bandannas during the parade. Broker Kathryn Lerner was thanked for the pirate swag, and one island senior told her, “Ooohhh…..I love pinwheels!” While broker Julie Wilson worked at the Windermere booth, 2014 coloring contest winner Molly Rojas stopped by with her sisters McKenna and Maggie to create an entry for this year. And all the musical entertainment at the Windermere Stage – the new stage set up was awesome and made it easier to see the performers.

Windermere Mercer Island brokers will also be at “The Pirates Return” Grand Parade that will wind through Town Center on Saturday July 11th, 10 am. They will be passing out festive red, white and blue pinwheels to parade attendees. To the left, broker Nancy LaVallee is showcasing the pinwheels we’ll be handing out – they are a nice size and spin like crazy in a breeze. Please note that the Obliteride Kids Ride sponsored by Fred Hutchinson is before the parade, starting at 9 am, and travels the same route. Plan accordingly to secure your favorite spot for the parade.
Keep on your toes – pirate sword fights are supposed to break out about every 30 minutes over both days of Summer Celebration. Word has it that the action will be by the skate park at Mercerdale Park.
