Last Mercer Island Farmers Market This Weekend: November 18th & November 19th

Mercer Island Farmers Market

Sunday, November 19th is your last chance to visit the Mercer Island Farmers Market—it’s the last one of the season! Since it’s the last market of 2017, it has been dubbed the “special” Harvest Market. This special event gives you the opportunity to shop around at different stands or booths that offer everything from produce, to crafts.

If you want to bring family, the Harvest Market even has a kid’s activity available where children will learn how to make DIY birdfeeders—perfect for the fall season and Thanksgiving.

In order for events like these to continue to exist, there are local vendors who are generous enough to help by donating a portion of their proceeds to the Mercer Island Farmers Market. The featured vendor this time around is Glassybaby, who will be donating 10% of their earnings toward future markets.

If you’re interested in good food, drinks, and amazing crafts, come on down to the north end of Mercerdale Park and have some fun! The market opens at 10:00 am and closes at 3:00 pm.

Arcade Lights at Pike Place this Weekend: March 25th & 26th

Arcade Lights at Pike Place this Weekend: March 25th & 26th

Pike Place Market has been a staple on Seattle since the turn of the century – and in June 2017 opens up with the fancy new upgrades. In its early days, Pike Place Market saw farmers bring their vegetables, fruit, dairy, eggs, and meat to sell as Settle grew into a thriving metropolis. On its original, grand opening day, the market ran out of produce within minutes – and that is how Pike Place Market skyrocketed into a international attraction.

Today, Pike Place Market remains a hub of local farmersartisan foods, homemade crafts, the arts, shopping and so much more. This weekend, “Pike Place” is hosting one of its many events: Arcade Lights – a local spectacle of artisan food, craft beer, cider, tastings, and over 70 of Seattle tip-top vendors! What’s even better? Arcade Lights benefits seniors and families in “the Market”.

Though not free, and 21+, this event will make a fun evening. Hosted between 7pm and 10pm, on the eve of March 24, this event will gift you with fun times and a full tummy – all in the name of preserving our community! Curious about buying tickets? Click here!

Happy Weekend, Islanders! It’s starting to look like fall with all those leaves turning color, but we still have a little bit of summer sun left in store. The market this weekend will feature super foods and quick ‘n easy healthy snack tastings. Music at the market will be by Henry Mansfield on the piano, and the kids table will be all about spiders and the cool things they do in nature. Stop on by to check it all out while the sun it still shining!

Mercer Island Farmer’s Market, Sunday 9/14

Good Morning, Islanders! Hopefully everyone is outside and enjoying the beautiful sunshine, and if not, I hope you’re watching the Husky game! This weekend at the market Caspar Babypants will be featured, playing his renowned music for the little ones. He has released over a half dozen albums with fun songs for the young and young at heart, and will start the show tomorrow at 10:30. A lot of the food trucks will be featuring kid friendly menu items, and of course there lots of ice cream to go around. Some of my personal favorites are Street Treats and Whidbey Island Ice Cream. Go check it out tomorrow, 10-3 pm!

Mercer Island Farmer’s Market, August 10th

It’s another beautiful Mercer Island morning, so let’s take advantage of the summer while we have a few days left! Today marks the 7th anniversary of the farmer’s market, with giveaways and pie tastings for everyone. Music will feature Zach Lombardo, and the kid’s table will have berry ink painting.

Make sure to check out Jerry Baxter’s company Got Soup? while you visit today. I can say from personal experience that these soups are incredible. This weeks flavors are Carrot and Green Curry, Coconut Red Lentil Dal, Cucumber and Melon, and Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho. You can find more information on their website here. Enjoy the sun and the weekend!

Mercer Island Farmer’s Market, July 6th

Happy July! Hope everyone out there had a safe and happy 4th. It’s a beautiful Sunday, so please get outside and enjoy! Seattle summers are the motivation to bear the winter grey, so take advantage of those blue skies. The farmer’s market this weekend features the usual vendors, minus the few that were here for Garden Days.

New to this year’s season is Britt’s Pickles, with incredible pickle varieties for every palette. My personal favorites are the black garlic and the hot pepper flavors. If you miss the farmer’s market, they also have a shop at Pike Place Market. You can find more information at

Mercer Island Farmer’s Market, Sunday June 29th

MP900387860This weekend is the final weekend of Garden Days at the Farmer’s Market! Today’s theme is edible garden, so fresh produce is even more of a given than usual. Make sure to check out MetalWing Studios, a vendor that is a part of Garden Days. Their studio creates beautiful enamel birds for garden decoration. Also stop by and listen to the Blues Duo/Paul and Dave for some great music while you’re browsing the rest of the booths.

Summer wouldn’t truly be summer without fresh berries, and the following two vendors make sure that we won’t go without. Hayton Farms carries a variety of summer berries including blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc. Skagit Sun Berries also carries the three most popular berry varieties, but are famous for their strawberries. I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, but Skagit Sun grows EIGHT different kinds of strawberries. Not to mention five different types of both raspberries and blueberries. Check them out!

Mercer Island Farmer’s Market, Sunday June 22nd

market-basket-for-home-pageAnother week has flown by, and that means another MI Farmer’s Market Sunday! The sun is starting to peek through, so it’s a perfect day to check out all the new, and veteran, vendors. This weekend is also the second to last in the Garden Days series, featuring outdoor decor, mosaics, and other goodies for your outdoor space. The music will be by Joe Ross, and the kids table has a Tater Tots theme. Right now many of your favorite fresh fruits and vegetables are in season, including strawberries, cherries, raspberries, snap peas, asparagus and carrots.

Be on the look out for a few of my favorite vendors: Kiss My Grits and Mystery Bay Seafood. They both sell ready to eat dishes, no preparation required. Kiss My Grits is a southern comfort food truck with grits and cornbread galore. Mystery Bay Seafood is renowned for their oysters, so check them out too! Happy Sunday, everyone!
