In a continued partnership, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the City of Mercer Island are coordinating another drug “take-back” day on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
This one-day event provides residents with a no-cost and anonymous option to dispose of unwanted or expired prescriptions or over-the-counter medicines.
ACCEPTED ITEMS: Prescribed narcotic drugs (Vicodin, Oxycontin, etc.), prescribed medicines, over-the-counter medications, medication samples, pet medications, medicated ointments & lotions, vitamins, inhalers, and unopened EpiPens.
NOT ACCEPTED ITEMS: Personal care items, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans, used EpiPens, mercury products, iodine products, radioactives, business waste, and empty containers, “sharps” or needles.
Located at the Mercer Island City Hall, drop-offs will be accepted to the west side of the building in the loading dock area.
