While Memorial Day weekend unofficially ushers in summer, this holiday weekend promises to deliver in our region. We’re supposed to see the sun – warm, sunny sunshine! So while you are stockpiling Vitamin D via our much-missed sunny weather, it might be nice to have a treat that always tastes a little better when the weather is warm – an ice cream cone.
If you’d like to pick up an ice cream cone in Seattle, here are two excellent articles to check out:
- The Coolest Seattle Ice Cream Shops, Spring 2017 (Full disclosure: a couple of the entries in this guide are not in Seattle – but most are!)
- Seattle’s Delicious Ice-Cream Mile (the mile is the one-mile stretch of Union Street with 6 wonderful ice cream establishments).
If you’d like to pick up a cone on the Eastside, Molly Moon’s location in Redmond is the place to check out! Housed in the historic Redmond State Bank Building, this Molly Moon’s location is both the first on the Eastside and the first featuring an open kitchen format. You can see for yourself how the staff creates the magical ice cream, sorbet, and toppings!
When you are enjoying the waterfront walk in Kirkland, there are three great places near the marina and Peter Kirk Park to pick up a cone: Sirena Gelato, Coffee and Cone, plus a Ben & Jerry’s location.
Are you hanging out in Bellevue, and would prefer an ice cream sundae? Then bring a friend (or three) to Vivo 53 and order one of their insane sundaes. There are 3 delectable sundaes on the menu, plus rotating seasonal ice cream creations.
I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing holiday weekend. And if you pick up an ice cream cone, let me know which place you tried! Or if I missed mentioning your favorite ice cream shop.
