The first two Mercer Island Farmers Market (MIFM) days were graced with lovely, sunny weather. The first market day on June 5th was a record breaker in total sales and visitor counts. That’s terrific!!
Local cherries are in season and currently available via MIFM vendors. Their season is not long, so pick some up to enjoy at their peak flavor! June is also the MIFM Garden Month. Garden vendors will be on hand selling local, garden-themed products such as yard art and furniture, plant starts, soaps and gardening-ware.
The June 19th market will be hopping with a bunch of activities. Live music will be provided by the jazz influenced band The Archtops. This week’s featured sponsor will be “new business on the block,” New Seasons. And check out the featured vendor, Divine Crumb, offering delicious products that promote and support enjoyable healthy eating. Over at the Children’s Table the kids can learn more about potatoes with the Tater Tot activity.
I hear that the weather will return to sunshine and warm temps just in time for Sunday’s market. Have a good time!
